Cincinnati-Ukraine Partnership

The Challenge:
In the midst of political unrest during the Ukrainian presidential election in 2004, the board of the Cincinnati-Kharkiv Sister City Project (CKSCP) voted to change the name of its parent organization. The new name, Cincinnati-Ukraine Partnership (CUP), reflects the organization’s expanded commitment to promoting democracy, free enterprise, and cultural understanding between Cincinnati and the Ukraine as a whole, rather than to a single city. CUP's new image needed to build on a fifteen-year history, while helping to revitalize interest in the organization and its mission.

The Solution:
The new logo [click hyperlinks to see next image] incorporates a bridge recognizable as the Roebling suspension bridge, a Cincinnati landmark, with the Ukrainian flag, to signify a bridging of cultures. The identity system adds spanning curves that evoke the northern hemisphere of the globe, a flight path, a bridge, a road.
Other updated pieces include a redesigned Web site, Membership Brochure, and templates designed for in-house printing and communications.

The Result:
A new image that more fully represents this vital and forward-thinking organization, plus marketing tools that effectively communicate the role and importance of Cincinnati-Ukraine Partnership to a new generation of Cincinnatians. Top
