The Challenge:
Create printed keepsakes for the groundbreaking celebration of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. The poster [click hyperlink to see next image] and program would both be given away at the event.

The Solution:
The most dramatic part of the outdoor event would be a barge crossing the Ohio River with hundreds of people holding candles and singing, representing the crossing of escaped slaves over the river to freedom. We made this the focus of an original, commissioned illustration used in both pieces, with the image of the Freedom Center in the background. The passengers in the boat represent all those who champion the cause of freedom.

The Result:
The past and present are brought together in a beautifully illustrated commemorative poster and program.  Top
