The Challenge:
How to develop, brand and market educational software that meets
the needs of teachers and education departments in functionality
and content, and appeals to students as a fun and engaging way to
learn.
The Solution:
We developed the Optimum line of interactive
practice tests [click hyperlink to see next image] to help prepare
students for taking state-mandated assessment / proficiency tests.
Test formats and questions in subject areas are aligned with each
state's guidelines. The students have the option to receive immediate
feedback, and test scores are saved for evaluation.
Optimum for Ohio History is an interactive overview of the history of Ohio from the Prehistoric Era to the Industrial Era. Timelines, maps, illustrations and photos make history come alive for students; games, puzzles and a scavenger hunt make learning fun. For teachers, we included printable transcripts of the audio, and review quizzes with computer grading.
The Web site, Optimumtest.com includes product demos. Bright colors and energetic graphics on packaging and brochures appeal to kids and educators. A Public Relations initiative and press kit (available on the Web site) have led to several newspaper features.
The Result:
A product that meets the needs of the market (students and educators)
and branding that communicates real benefits in a category full
of so-called “educational products.” Optimum is now
a recognized and respected name in educational software.
