Summerfair Foundation, Inc.

The Challenge:
For nearly 40 years the non-profit Summerfair Foundation, Inc. has been supporting and promoting artists and the arts in Greater Cincinnati with support for: individual artists in the form of grants and exhibitions, community-based art activities and events, and a nationally-recognized annual fine arts festival.

The Summerfair Board recently resolved to step-up marketing efforts to raise public awareness of their wide range of programs and activities, thereby increasing community support.

The Solution:
Unified and consistent branding, beginning with a new logo – a bright orange sun breaking out of a picture frame, with the fresh, playful feel of a sidewalk chalk drawing. Business cards, letterhead, and envelopes got the new look, along with shirts and buttons worn by festival volunteers. [Click hyperlinks to see examples.]

The redesigned community newsletter, ArtBeat, highlights and promotes Summerfair’s various programs with professional and artistic appeal. A new Web site offers complete information and resources for artists, volunteers, supporters, and the community.

The Result:
A brand identity that communicates the energy and enthusiasm Summerfair feels for the arts, plus increased recognition of its commitment to promote creation and appreciation of fine arts and crafts in Cincinnati, not only during the festival, but throughout the year. Top
